The 11th Annual State of Developer Relations Report has been released, providing important insights into the evolving role of Developer Relations (DevRel) in driving business outcomes.
If you missed our recent webinars featuring Caroline Lewko, Jonathan LeBlanc, Sidney Maestre, and Janina Pilomia, you can now access the recordings below to catch up on the discussions around these findings.
Key Findings
Alignment with Business Objectives DevRel programs are increasingly linked to broader business goals. This year, 66% of teams prioritize product awareness and adoption, while 44% focus on active user engagement as a primary measure of success. These trends reflect a strategic shift towards demonstrating DevRel’s impact on key company metrics.
Team Structure and Resource Allocation The composition of DevRel teams is changing, with a reduction in the number of one-person teams by 18%. This points to a move towards more specialized roles within organizations, emphasizing the need for dedicated resources to drive developer engagement and product success.
Adoption of AI in DevRel Workflows 78% of DevRel professionals are now using artificial intelligence tools to enhance their workflows. However, concerns about the accuracy, effectiveness, and security of these tools were also highlighted.
Call for Standardization A lack of a formal career path and standardized practices remains a challenge, with 61% of respondents indicating no clear progression in their DevRel roles. There is a need for more structured frameworks to professionalize the field.
